May 13 Meeting Preview: Preparing for Fairs


Our Fair-entry experts will give us some information and helpful hints on how to prepare and enter your crochet projects in the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Fairs.


The meeting will be held Saturday, May 13th, at the Textile Center, 3000 University Ave SE, with the following schedule:
  • 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM - Open Crochet
  • 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Announcements and Show and Tell
  • 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM - Education Session
  • 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM – Open Crochet
To get the most out of this meeting please bring enthusiasm and encouragement.  Whether you are thinking of entering yourself or not, it's fun to support each other and the guild.

If you're new to Crochet Twin Cities, you can join us by downloading our  membership form and bringing the amount shown on the form to the meeting, or you can pay the non-member fee of $5 for attending one meeting. New members/visitors are encouraged to arrive between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

April Events

This month we do not have a Second Saturday meeting.  We will have our Fourth Saturday meet-up at on April 22nd at Bruegger's in Bloomington.
Our monthly meetings will resume on May 13th.

Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop (April 6-9)
The 11th annual Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop is scheduled for April 6-9.  15 yarn shops are participating in this year’s event.  Check out their website for all the details to plan your road trip:  Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop

Textile Center’s Textile Garage Sale (April 22)
The 17th Annual World’s Largest Textile Garage Sale is April 22.  Donations will be accepted on Thursday, April 20.  As always, the Textile Center is looking for volunteers for this event – this is a fun opportunity to get involved!  For all the details, check out the Textile Center’s website: Textile Center Garage Sale

American Craft Show (April 7-9)
American Craft Council’s Midwest show at St. Paul RiverCentre.  The craft show is a chance to check out contemporary jewelry, clothing, furniture, and home décor artists from across the country.

Putting Down Roots installation at North Mississippi Regional Park (on-going exhibit)
The Putting Down Roots exhibit can now be found at the North Mississippi Regional Park, Carl W Kroening Interpretive Center.  The exhibit includes some lovely crocheted and knit native plants and their roots system.  No website for the exhibit itself, but check out the Putting Down Roots group discussion board “New Venue” on Ravelry.
