July 8 Meeting Preview: Amagurumi

This month's education will be a workshop on Amigurumi.

You have seen examples of this from some of our group during show and tell. Maybe you looked and thought, "No, that's too hard! It takes too long." Well, come and learn what it is all about and give it a try - you'll get "hooked" to be sure.

Gloria will be sharing a bit of information on the term Amigurumi and showing some examples of her work.  We will be creating a crocheted crochet hook. Yes, you read that right! This character is Gloria's own design.

The meeting will be held Saturday, July 8th, at the Textile Center, 3000 University Ave SE, with the following schedule:
  • 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM - Open Crochet
  • 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Announcements and Show and Tell
  • 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM - Education Session
  • 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM – Open Crochet
To get the most out of this meeting please bring:
  • Worsted weight yarn,
  • E/3.5mm hook
  • Contrast yarn or stitch markers
Gloria will bring a big bag of stuffing (enough for everyone to use).

If you've never done a magic circle before, go to this YouTube link and practice a little at home: Magic circle how-to
