The meeting will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Textile Center, with the following schedule:
- 10 to 11 a.m. - Open crochet and destash sorting
- 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Intro, show and tell, board report, view destash
- 12 to 1 p.m. - Team crochet trivia
- 1 to 2 p.m. - Distribution of remaining destash
Sign in please: Please remember to check in for the destash event at the front desk when you arrive and to wear a name tag (blank tags will be available at the front table). Members will be given a table number when they enter. Members will sit at their designated table and will work with their tablemates as a team during our new crochet trivia game.
Stash drop-off: There’ll be a table at one end of the room for receiving and sorting the destash contributions.
Stash contributions: You can contribute books, magazines, and tools, as well as yarn, to the destash. Yes, please bring any unwanted or unloved yarn! Or even your loved but no longer needed yarn! If you’re donating yarn, please package the yarn in advance, ideally in plastic bags with labels briefly describing the yarn: fiber content, yardage, yarn type (such as fingering or worsted). Basically, the information you would want to know.
Let's crochet: The day will start with open crochet.
Show and tell: Next, we'll have show and tell, which we'll do from our seats (you'll keep your finished objects with you).
Review the stash: We'll take a break, a good time for a look at the all of the destash contributions. There will then be drawings for those who contributed to Crochet for a Cause and demonstration volunteers, so they get first dibs at the available goodies.
New this year - crochet trivia: At noon we’ll test our knowledge of obscure crochet facts and earn points as a team (with our tablemates). Teams will get to pick from the destash in order of points received (starting with the team who has earned the highest number of points). Trivia question developers will also have an opportunity to choose.
Distribution of the stash: The remaining items will be offered to everyone, and we’ll have drawings if more than one member is interested in an item.
