Sept. 8 Meeting Preview: Garment Making - Finishing Workshop

The right finishing techniques can make your crocheted garment or other crocheted projects look professional and polished. During this hands-on workshop, you'll get a chance to try several finishing techniques and see for yourself what a difference the right seaming, blocking or edging can do for a project. You'll be working on your own projects or swatches during this session, so please bring samples and swatches for practice - as well as any burning questions you have on this topic!

The meeting will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Textile Center, with the following schedule:

10 to 11 a.m. - Open crochet
11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Announcements, show and tell
12 to 1 p.m. - Education
1 to 2 p.m. - Open crochet

To get the most out of this meeting, please bring:
  • A printed or electronic copy of the class handout. (Members: See the September email newsletter for the PDF; we'll also have a few extra printed copies at the meeting.)
  • Sample swatches or projects for seaming, blocking or edging. You don't need to bring blocking tools.
  • Yarn to match your swatches or sample projects.
  • Tapestry needle, scissors and stitch markers.
Monthly meetings are free for CTC members, $5 for guests.
