Our June 10th meeting will be very different from anything we've done recently .
We'll be cruising the Mississippi River out of Harriet Island on a Lunch and
Lock tour. You will need to reserve your space via the website:
https://riverrides.com/dining/lunch-lock/. The price is $48.32 and includes lunch. Be sure to indicate that you are part
of the Crochet Twin Cities group in the notes/comments to ensure you are seated
with the group.

Crochet Twin Cities will reimburse members in good standing $25 towards ticket price upon arrival for the tour. We do not want any members left out because they can't
afford the ticket or don't use internet/credit cards, so if you are unable to
make your reservation for ANY reason, but you wish to attend, please contact
Theresa directly to discuss, as soon as possible. You are welcome to bring
friends and family, however, CTC will not cover any additional costs. If you
need a ride to Harriet Island, or if there are any other accommodations needed,
please let us know. We are checking into the availability of vegan options.
Recognizing that not everyone will be able to attend in June, we will be
offering a second opportunity to participate in a cruise in September, date to
be determined. Members are welcome to participate in both cruises but will only
receive reimbursement for one cruise. Again, if you have any questions, concerns
or input, please contact ctclist or any board member: Theresa (President),
Brenda (VP), Carla (Treasurer), Barb (Secretary).

We had a great meeting at the Lake Elmo Library, where over a dozen members
gathered to share tips, tricks and tools. Several members brought their swifts
and winders, and members brought hanks of yarn to be wound into cakes. A popular
item was my yarn caddy - unfortunately, I picked mine up at my very first
destash meeting over a decade ago, so have no idea where it was originally from,
but I've seen variations in yarn/hobby shops, catalogs and online (here's one example from
Mary Maxim).
Another item we discussed was a one-time purchase of member gifts, the board has been working with Roger at
What I Made Design Some of you have seen my Temperature Blanket Color Chart pictured below, which was a purchase from Roger's site. FYI - he has our logo on file now, so if you want to order any item from his shop with the CTC logo just include that in the order information. The members attending the meeting voted unanimously to order a gift for each member. Members will be able to select either the Gauge & Hook size tool or the Wraps Per Inch tool pictured above, so watch for information on how to indicate your preference coming soon.
Last, but not least, Nancy S talked about the
2023 Chapter Challenge - Crochet Guild of America (CGOA), which runs through June 23. This year the challenge is crocheting soap sacks using worsted weight cotton, cotton blend or bamboo yarn. Finished sacks should measure approx. 4" x 6". Ideally, a full-size, wrapped bar of soap should be included with the soap sack. *Note: Theresa does have a small stockpile of soap to share with the group and suggestions for where you can find inexpensive bars of soap and multi-packs. See the website for
Supporting A Community with Kindness for links to patterns. Reach out to Nancy S with questions, to report your counts and share pictures or send to ctclist and we will forward to her.
