It's December - Whatcha Gonna Make?

2020 Year of TP Wreath
I've started making the gifts for my co-workers, my grandson's teachers, neighbors, friends and service providers.  I've made ornaments, cup cozies, washcloths, soap sacks, fingerless gloves, small bags, fidgets and oh, lots of things (one of my all-time favorites was a "darn-it" doll in Vikings colors).   In 2020, I made 80-some wreath ornaments commemorating the great toilet paper shortage.   Some people thought they were cute, others not so much; my sister asked me for one without the tp roll (like that's the whole point!).

If you're curious, you can check out some of the fingerless mitts posted in Raverly under NanaTC or if you're on Facebook, I have a couple of albums with my creations.  *Note: I made that Raverly entry public, so no account is needed to view the mittens.

November 25th meetup at Rosedale Center

The November meetup was held at a new location: Rosedale Center.  We had 22 guests and members attending and the space was great!  Going forward, we'll hold odd-number month meetings (January, March, May, July, etc), at Rosedale in Roseville.  Bree treated us to cookies and a good time was had by all. Our December meetup will be on December 30th; we'll still be at the MOA, it's just a date change.

Our December 9 meeting featured Tamara Kelly from Moogly to make the Twisted Textured Wine Cozy.  If you aren't a wine drinker, you can adjust the pattern to make a striking basket or gift bag or any size.
Don't forget to renew your membership, The membership form is available on our Member Policies and About Us pages.  Note: the email distribution list will be updated in early January, so please pay your dues or contact us by the end of December, because you are NOT going to want to miss January's education.

In January, we'll be learning from Edie Eckman again. She'll be teaching us about seaming granny squares/motifs, so be sure to watch for the January newsletter for the pre-work and other details.   One of our newer members, Tony will be showing us thermal crochet in February, and Marissa will take us through surface crochet in March.

April is the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop and we'll be planning our route soon.  We'll have a 14-passenger van, so be sure to get on the list, or if you want to ride along, be sure to connect with us for the route.

Shepherd's Harvest is on Mother's Day weekend.  Last year, we held our May 2nd Saturday meeting at a Washington County, so that we'd be nearby if we wanted to visit Shepherd's Harvest afterwards. The calendar will be updated as information becomes available, and we'll keep you informed via the newsletter and Facebook.

Summer will bring the county and State Fairs.  If you've never entered an item and want to try it this year, several of our members have experience and can help guide you through the process.  We're looking at a couple of summer field trip events, including a potluck in Isanti, another cruise and who knows what other ideas we'll come up witth? See you soon!  Theresa
